This weekend saw the University of Birmingham women’s hockey first team gain promotion into division 1 of the National Indoor League.

Sarah Haycroft, first year History student, has won the much esteemed 2009 Higgins Youth Hockey Award. The award is presented by the Hockey Writers’ Club, is a recognition of outstanding youth hockey talent and often sees the winner go on to international honours.
