The Men’s Cricket Club has around 70 members, currently fielding four teams during the summer semester; three compete in BUCS Leagues and a 4th team that play friendlies. The club trains throughout the academic year benefiting from world class facilities at the Edgbaston Indoor School. During the autumn semester indoor cricket matches take place together with an opportunity to work hard on physical fitness. In the spring semester there is greater focus on cricket skills and match preparation for the upcoming season. The club traditionally meets in the last week of the Easter holidays for practice matches, training and socials to prepare for the competitive season. The club prides itself on combining competitive cricket with a friendly and sporting atmosphere that students of all abilities can enjoy. The club also has an active social setup, providing a variety of days and nights out spread across all three semesters to which all members and non-members are welcome to attend. A new addition this year is the club’s involvement in running an Indoor Cricket Try Sport course, providing those new to the sport an opportunity to play.
