The University of Birmingham Women’s Cricket Club is expanding within UBS and prides itself on developing players of all abilities, from absolute beginners to dedicated county players. The club consists of 40 members with a mixture of seniors and fresher’s. The first team competes in the BUCS Northern Premier League and a second team is being developed to play local friendlies. All members train together at the prestigious Edgbaston Indoor School. During the Autumn Semester a squad is entered into the ECB National Indoor league and the BUCS Indoor League, where a completely different side of cricket is played, enclosed in a cage you get quite an adrenaline rush! Spring and summer semesters are spent focusing on outdoor cricket and preparing for the upcoming season. We are a dynamic and highly sociable mix from diverse academic disciplines both undergraduates and postgraduates. The club successfully combines competitive cricket with a friendly sporting atmosphere and lively social calendar.
