Jitsu is a martial art based on the traditional styles of Jiu Jitsu that originated and developed in medieval Japan. Jitsu is a movement-based martial art involving the use of throwing, striking and locking techniques against armed and unarmed attackers. The emphasis is on using an opponent’s movement and body weight to your advantage – allowing you to defend yourself, no matter how big or strong your attacker is. Anyone can practice Jitsu, no matter what size, age or gender and we teach skills to suit a variety of situations ranging from unwanted harassment to armed physical assault. In addition, Jitsu can improve your confidence, self-esteem, discipline and fitness. We offer two free sessions to newcomers so, whatever your motivation is, come to the Dojo and say hi!
