The University of Birmingham has its own outdoor pursuits centre in the Lake District. Located on the western shore of Coniston Water, the Raymond Priestley Centre is an ideal location for outdoor activities. It is 100 metres from the lake shore and you can walk from the centre into the hills.
Coniston Adventure Weekends are self catering. There is a fully equipped kitchen and dining room for you to use. Bedrooms have either a lake or forest view and accommodate 4 or 6 people in custom built cedar wood bunks. The centre has a comfortable lounge, table tennis room, drying room and toilets, showers and changing facilities.
Centre staff offer expert tuition and March activities include: gorge walking; rock climbing; abseiling; mountain walking; canoeing and relaxing in front of the log fire. Coniston Adventure Weekend dates and prices including transport from campus.
