Book your tickets for Sports Ball 2012 now!
The third annual Sports Ball will celebrate the year’s student sport successes.
Sports Ball is the students’ celebration for all that you have achieved as part of your club this year. There will be drinks reception, entertainment, awards, a three-course meal (with drinks on tables) and of course the infamous Sports Ball video. This is all followed with the afterparty in Joes, included in your ticket. This is for all sports teams, whether you be through UBSport or the Guild, this is your chance to celebrate.
This will be the third Sports Ball of this kind, and bigger and better than ever before. This year’s venue is Edgbaston Cricket Club on Monday 4th June in the brand new banqueting suite of the new development. This is the Monday immediately after the exam period closes.
This year there will also be a new award which all clubs and sports groups will be eligible to enter for, so all clubs can have something to anticipate for on the night… more details on this soon!! The usual awards include Development Club of the Year, Club Colours, Outstanding Contribution Award, Guild Sport Society of the Year & Student Leadership Award. Nominations criteria for these will follow in due course.

From Monday 20th February to Sunday 26th, you can reserve tickets for your sports club/society in batches of 5 or 10 (tables seat 10). You do this by emailing Sam Thomson (Deputy Venues Manager) (s.thomson@guild.bham.ac.uk) with how many tickets you require, your contact details and the name of your club. Ticket reservations will be made on a first come first served basis, so it is strongly advised that you reserve your tickets ASAP. There is no limit to the amount of tickets you can reserve, however only reserve the number that you require.
From Monday 27th February, you then have until Sunday 4th March to pay in full for reserved tickets. Upon payment, you will receive confirmation and your tickets. Accepted payment methods are by cash or retail vouchers (available from Student Development ie allowing you to transfer money from your Guild account). Upon paying, you will need to provide the names and dietary requirements of each person attending, so please ensure that you have that information available. Details of where to pay will be confirmed to you upon reserving tickets.
