Keep you eye's peeled for the date of next years event!
Following the success of last year’s event, it is with great pleasure that I write to invite you to the University of Birmingham Corporate Relay Challenge which returns for its third year.
From bankers to builders, postmen to policemen, school kids to sports clubs, the Corporate Relay Challenge encourages anyone and everyone to put their best foot forward by taking part in a relay race at the University of Birmingham in aid of Mencap the UK’s leading learning disability charity.
And this year’s relay promises to be bigger and better with a BBQ, drinks and business networking opportunity after the race.
Taking place on June 17th on the University’s picturesque campus, the relay involves a 4 x 1 mile relay for men’s, mixed and children’s teams (just £20) and a 3 x 1 mile relay for women’s teams (just £10).
So why not get your colleagues together, put on your running shoes and walk, jog, sprint or skip just 1 mile to do your company proud!
There will be a goody bag for each competitor & great spot prizes throughout the evening.
Proceeds split between Mencap and the University of Birmingham Athletics Club. The University of Birmingham is an exempt charity. Mencap registered charity number 222377.
A bit about Mencap
A learning disability affects the way someone learns, communicates or does some everyday things. It does not stop someone from learning and achieving a lot in life if they get the right support. There are approximately 24,020 people with a learning disability in Birmingham.
Mencap’s services in housing, employment, education and personal support allow people with a learning disability to live as independently as possible. Mencap provide advice and support through the national helpline based in Birmingham and campaign for the changes that people with a learning disability need.
All people with a learning disability deserve the opportunity to have a place to live, a job and the chance to learn and develop, just like every other member of society.
