Scholar qualifies for Faldo Series

Last years English Women’s Open Mid-Amateur Champion, Lucy Williams has qualified for the Faldo Series Grand Final after winning a regional qualifier.

The University of Birmingham Sports scholar, who was also a member of the first ever women’s team to win the World Student Matchplay Championships in June, won the Vale of Glamorgan Under 21 qualifying tournament last month.

Lucy will now travel to Brazil on October 23rd where she’ll compete against the winners from the other 10 qualifiers from around the world in the final - an R&A World Amateur Golf Ranking event hosted by Nick.

In addition to the tournament itself, all players will also benefit from clinics and training sessions with Nick Faldo himself.

The former World No. 1 created the Faldo Series in 1996 to help identify and nurture the next generation of champions. During his career he has won three Open Championships and three U.S. Masters.

Each year over 4,000 talented golfers worldwide, boys and girls aged 12 to 21, benefit from a unique combination of tournament experience and expert advice.
