Sports halls & studios

University of Birmingham Sport has a number of sports halls and studios which facilitate sporting activity such as indoor sports, fitness classes and personal training.

 The New Gym, Sports Hall and Old Gym are available for members to hire. Bookings can be made up to seven days in advance online, on your mobile via the UBSport app (download link on the right) by calling +44 (0)121 414 4117 or by visiting the Munrow Sports Centre reception; please remember your id card when booking at reception. Please note you must pay at the time of booking.

Dance studio
Our dedicated dance studio hosts over 24 hours of classes a week on its maple sprung floor. Located on the lower ground floor of the Munrow Sports Centre, it measures 18 x 15m, has full length mirrors, a ballet barre, music system and equipment for exercise to music classes and circuit training.
 

 

Dojo

Our martial arts studio, Dojo, located in the Old Gym, has an 8.5m x 13.5m sprung wooden floor and is equipped with high quality, removable matting.

The Dojo is the training base for all of our martial arts sports clubs and also the home for many yoga, tai chi and martial arts classes

 

 

Gymnastics hall

The Slater gymnastics hall is a first-class gymnastics facility and is the regional satellite training centre to Lilleshall National Gymnastics Centre. It is fully equipped to cater for beginners to high performance gymnasts.
The facility has a sprung floor with a large padded central area and also houses a tumble run, foam pits, trampoline and a variety of beams, vaults and bars.

It can house 4 badminton courts, netball, basketball, volleyball, trampolining, table tennis and other activities such as circuit training.

You can book a Performance court in the Old Gym for personal training sessions.

 

 

Sports hall Book now

36m x 18m

Can accommodate up to 5 badminton courts, volleyball, basketball, netball, korfball and indoor tennis. It has an electronic scoreboard and a permanent spectator balcony for up to 300 people.
