Summer camps

Friends and Families

Camps run through the summer school holidays. These are open to members of staff and graduates of the University of Birmingham. They are very popular weeks that give families an opportunity to learn outdoor activities. During this time the grounds provide an attractive campsite for those who prefer a more outdoor experience.

The Families Camps

Cater for those requiring a taught programme of outdoor activities - this would include canoeing, sailing, windsurfing, mountain walking, climbing and mountain biking. The programme is very flexible and provides the opportunity for rest and relaxation as well as taking part in activities. This week would particularly suit beginners and improvers.

The Friends Weeks are for those who are competent in the water sports that we offer as NO instruction is provided - just a safety watch.

Accommodation is either cabin-style bedrooms or camping and both are self-catering.

My family have been visiting the Priestley Centre for the past 10 years. I had never sailed or been kayaking before. My son first came to the Centre when he was 10 years old and has since learnedto sail, kayak, windsurf and rock climb. He did kayaking as part of his GCSE PE course.
