Paul Weston Triathlon Scholarship

In memory of Paul Christopher Weston (Sport and Exercise Science, 2002) funding to the value of £3,500 is available for one outstanding individual in the sport of triathlon.

 The Scholarship Award

The award includes a £2,000 expenses account which can be used towards:


Triathlon Competitions- including entry fees, travel and accommodation

High Performance Centre (HPC) Services- specialist coaching, physiotherapy, sports massage, individual psychology, nutrition and physiology support or additional strength & conditioning sessions.


The award also includes:

- Athlete profiling day - including a screening and consultations with the High Performance Centre (HPC) practitioners

- Access to one scholar strength & conditioning session per week

- Access to HPC psychology, nutrition and physiology workshops

- Annual peak gym & swim membership to the sports centre

- Smartabase account – online athlete data management programme for logging training, well-being and competitions

- Dedicated lifestyle mentor – to help balance studies alongside training and competition demands

- Scholar Welcome Meal 

- Induction Course at the Raymond Priestly Centre, Coniston, Lake District

- Scholarship goody bag


Who can apply?

The Paul Weston Triathlon Scholarship is open to incoming students as well as current University of Birmingham students. Selection will be based upon discipline performance, personal achievements and objectives and contributions to the University of Birmingham Triathlon Club.
